Re: HABISCUS | | If you have any Mexican shops handy, go in an ask for "Jamaica" (pronounced like "ha-my-ca"). These are the dried hibiscus petals. Put a handful in a pot of water, bring to a boil, then seep for a minute. Strain the liquid into a 2 liter pitcher, fill the rest of the way with water, and add Splenda to taste (start with 1/2 cup). It's amazing how fruity it tastes! And it really tastes better than making it with tea bags - same for the coca tea I drink in Peru - so much better with the whole leaves than with the bags but I couldn't bring the leaves back to the US. |
