I know there is something on George Stella's recipe archieve on FoodNetwork that has a sugar free-ish margarita. Just go to FoodNetwork.com and check it out.

Alcohol is still a LONG way off and far up the OWL ladders and something you might not even want to consider adding to begin with (or even looking forward to). Your body doesn't burn fat when you're drinking, it burns the alcohol first and has been known to stall people for quite a few days afterwards as well as induce water weight gain. I hate thinking that I'm not burning fat for every moment possible, but that's just me!

Yeah I know that too, I don't drink but on special occasions and if I do I don't drink much...like I said it isn't something I am going to be doing anytime soon, but thank you so much for the recipe link and your advice.

Try this
1/2 tsp pure orange extract or a shot of sour orange juice if they have it in your area (it is about as carby as lemon or lime)
or a half jigger of DeVinci or other sugar free orange syrup
1 packet Splenda leave out if you use the syrup above
1 shot tequila
1 teaspoon of fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice

pour into the blender with ice if you want a frozen one ..or shake in a martini shake of you like it straight up .....enjoy in a salt rimmed glass ....

this is quite good actually

HI,

WELL I'M JUST GUESSING THIS, AS HAVE ONLY HAD A MARGARITA ONCE IN MY LIFE BUT HERE GOES:

CRUSH A LOT OF ICE (CRUSHED IS ALWAYS NICER I THINK) AND ADD SOME VANILLA , POUR IN A TINY LIQUER GLASS OF VODKA THEN ADD A LITTLE GIN AND SERVE CHILLED WITH LITTLE PAPER UMBRELLAS OR WHATEVER/TWIZLER STICKS FOR THE CRUSHED ICE........AND PUT SOME DRIED BERRIES ON TOP, HOW ABOUT THAT?

Default Re: does anyone have a substitute for margaritas?

Mock Margarita

2 cups Diet Mountain Dew Soda -- frozen
1/4 cup lime juice
2 teaspoons Spoonable Equal or Splenda
margarita salt

Combine soda, juice and equal in blender. Blend until smooth. Dip rim of margarita glass in salt and pour in drinks.

NOTES: add 1.5 oz Tequila for a “full bore” margarita

To freeze the Dew, DON'T freeze it in the cans! Pour into a freezer container (I use those Ziploc disposable plastic containers) and freeze at least several hours in advance of making the mockaritas

***Recipe is from a weight watchers collection, but I don't see why it isn't atkins friendly. If you are on the alcohol rung, you should be able to handle all the other ingredients just fine.***
