| Count me in Jimmie! I'm going to climb Mt Kilimanjaro 36,680 steps, 2,578 flights! I use a stair master and i average about 60 flights in 15 mins so i'm hoping it should be doable. I will double check how many steps are in a flight on the machine tomorrow..the guide averages it to about 15.

| way to go sadie! i will climb that baby one day but i plan on doing all of them....if my knees hold out! i brought a big laundry basket of clothes up the stairs last night and jack said "that should count for 2 pennies since it's like carrying a backpack."

| I want to do all of them, starting with the shortest, the Millenium Dome in London, at 320 steps, or 21 flights, and work my way up to Mount Everest! There is a staircase at the end of my lunch time walks that goes from the top of the cliff down to the road that leads to the ocean. I have no idea how many steps that is, but I will find out today! (unless it starts raining, which it might do) This should be very interesting. I've climbed to the top of Notre Dame in Paris and the Vatican in Rome, for real, so I should be able to do these virtual challenges! Jimmie - can we post our progress here? Or is this for us to do on our own? Either way - cool challenge! Stacy

| very good stacy! that sounds like a long flight of steps and it's outdoors! very cool! i say we just post here whenever we want with updates. i am posting things in my journal but when i have completed a mountain, i plan on telling it here and the stating what i will be doing next. i don't think starting a new thread for each mountain/building would work too good. we would have umpteen threads and nobody would know where to go or post. here is good till something better comes along. cool beans that you did the for real climb!

| good to have you join up, sal! i think if you look at the sheet and figure your steps, flights per day and then the goal, it wants you to shoot for that time frame. like for me, calculating the flights for slieve donard it should take me between 3 and 4 weeks. some days i get in more flights than others but the goal for me is to finish climb in the 3 to 4 week time frame. sadiejens climb will take longer but her flights should work out to a certain number of weeks and she should try to reach the top by that time. does that make sense to you? that is what the calculations are for. you will know how long it's suppose to take using those figures. unless of course, your backpack gets too heavy and you roll down the hill or you have to take cover from an avalanche. watch out for mountain lions! lol

| Ok then... to business! I'm gonna start slow, to see how I get on. Also being a Brit, I've just gotta start with this one: Big Ben. Will set a week as the challenge and hope to reach those hands sooner. When I get there, I'll sit on the minute hand and take an hour long whirl around the clock! Fun! Oh... and Jimmie... at least I don't have to worry about mountain lions on Big Ben! After Ben, I'll move to something more challenging. Boy this is one cool challenge. I love it!
