    Default Workouts

I have been working really hard to lose weight. I have done the Atkins diet before and have been successful. Right now, My short term goal is to lose some weight/inches before a trip I am going on at the end of March. This past week I have worked out 6 days. I've been doing cardio with my target heart rate average at about 160, for 45-60min and adding my weight training circuit every other day to the cardio. I am writing because I feel so guilty for not going to the gym today. I just feel like I'm coming down with something! Am I going to affect my weight loss if I take a day off to rest? I know that this sounds ridiculous, but I really, really want this weight off. I know I should probably rest but I need to hear it from someone else! LOL
My problem area is my stomach (like many other people's). I want the inches off of my hips and waist and was told that cardio and weight training is the best for that. Any tips? thoughts?
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend

Hi Im no expert in this exercising department but all Im going to say is that if your not feeling well and physically you dont have the energy to do a workout then seriously rest it shouldn't affect you.Your health is very important too.

    Two things:
    1. If you are sick, stay home! If you absoultely must workut while you are sick, just take a walk. You're body will heal faster that way and your fellow gym members will thank you for not getting them sick Or you may want to have a selection of exercise videos for those day's when you cannot get to the gym. I download my workout videos from Workouts On Demand if your interested-- Exercise Video Downloads: Perfect for busy women -- Workouts On Demand
    2. As to the intensity of your workouts, I would lower your workout intensity a bit. A working heart rate of 160 is really high, even for a seasoned athlete. You would actually burn more fat if you dropped it down a bit. Your heart rate should be between 60-85% of its maximum and no higher. To determine what number that is for you, simply do a google search "find my exercise heart rate" and you should easily find a fitness calculator that will give you a safe and effective exercise heart rate.

    Good luck!
