| hey tom , just an idea that you could do is to have a mileage chart with everyone that does do this and say the goal is to hit like 1000 miles walked as a whole??????? think that would be a great idea... not that people set their own goal which sometimes is rough but that everyone work together as a group...... just an idea... dont know if i will join you am thinking I will but have to think about it ... as i hate to have people see me moving just too fast... all them jiggles could scare someone hehe

Ohhh I like this idea! I've been slowly progressing up to about 6 miles now. I start out walking, run a quarter mile and walk again. I do this till I hit the 6mile mark. I always feel like a million bucks afterward too! Definately game for a chart sort of thing! Kind regards, Rose Ann

Funny this should come up. One of the goals my kids and I set for this summer is to learn to run a mile. I thought this was really interesting : http://pages.ivillage.com/sgsamson/learntorun.html

HI, I don't run or jog, I walk with wrist weights. Heavyhand walking, spares my knee joints builds upper body muscle, and pushes my heartbeat up to where it should be for exercise. The calories burned by exercise is only a minor part of it. Exercise improves insulin sensitivity ! That is more important for most of us, and I think that is the great improvement that Atkins people get from it. danny

OK I did 1 mile running and like a half of mile walking plus an hour of shooting the basketball around. I say we do this. Lets keep a running total of miles that we run and walk ... no partial miles count only full completed miles ... so here is the first entry Name Miles Run Miles Walked Miles Total ------------------------------------------- Tom 1 0 1 ======================== 1 0 1
