| You really have to try to eat more. Get in some fats with calories and energy in them. Good carbs from veggies - to keep you healthy. If you eat that little your body will get into protest mood (starvation mode) and try to hold on to what it has. Your metabolism will slow down and you will not lose. Work on eating many small meals (but balanced) if you have problem with bigger ones. About gaining weight with the exercise: in the beginning the body will hold on to water to repair the muscles as they get worn with the new movement so that is very likely what you are experiencing. This is a temporary thing.

| Thanks so much for your input, Id be lost without the internet while doing atkins lol. I have managed to up my calorie intake, But im still adding, Should i be aiming for 500cals atleast burned a day now?? Thats good about the water weight, i was just assuming my muscles would hold onto it from day 1, and release it in 24hrs. But now that i think about it, it does make sense holding it longer since i havent been having breaks. Thats my next question, if i Take a day off, every 4 days. Will i lose weight on those days?? at first i thought i should be working out daily because it isnt extreme cardio. But after looking around on the net, That seems to be the common answer.... Does anyone do cardio here daily? |

| I think rest days are very important part of exercising. I run - and I always rest in between. When I do weights I rest in between. It is about giving you body and muscles time to build and get stronger. I am not sure why you are so focussed on calories. It is important to do things you enjoy and can sustain - have a bit of variation - and perhaps change things up now and then. Exercise is about health. (In DANDR all Atkins recommends is to do at least 1500-2000 a week) We lose weight on Atkins by restricting carbs but otherwise eating healthy (and eating close to our BMR)

| Thanks Again for your reply, Im not so Concerned about how many Calories i am eating, I am just worried that i am not eating enough Which has me worried that i will stall my weightloss and cause damage. Thats the only reason i am taking notice, Same as when i work out, I dont wanna go overboard, Because i know i could easily walk go for 2hrs or more on the treadmill a day, Im often wanting to get back on it. It felt so weird taking a day off yesterday lol.. The other thing, is like i mentioned.. Im new to working out, when i first did atkins i lost a ton of weight in 4months, without using the treadmill.. Now Im just figuring out how my body is working with working out.. I am noticing inches lost though, Which is fantastic! I dont have Food Scales yet, cause i was going to start using FitDay, But i still dont think im getting enough Calories in. When i first started atkins i was buying all my own food. And because im saving for a US trip in a few months... Was doing it cheap, Just the basics, alittle meat, veggies & cheese. (eggs as well until they messed with my weightloss) Thankfully my mum Has decided to do atkins with me, so Now shes buying alot of stuff that i can share with her, So im Slightly getting back on the right track. |

| Well that sounds good. You got it figured out. I think doing exercise is great. It will keep you healthy and help you keep the weight off once you lose what you need to lose. Great that you are concerned about eating enough. It is an important part of doing Atkins right. Seems like you are on the right track. Inches lost is huge. You will be looking great in no time.
