Smile I've noticed something

Hi everyone:

I've noticed something. AD melts fat off the body differently than low fat diets. I've been involved for many years with bodybuilding, but I stopped working out for 5-6 years since I'm in school and working on a Ph.D. Jeez, in retrospect, a total 0f 12 years in school already but that is another story.

I used to diet down by consuming less calories and keeping my carbs high as suggested by most exercise gurus. The fat used to come off but the intermuscular fat didn't come off quite as I would of hoped. I had a helluva time attaining definition.

On the AD it is reversed. The fat is coming off in away that it is revealing definition I thought I never had (maybe I forgot) on an accelerated rate. I'm getting cut! And quickly!

I believe the suppresion of insulin and the high fat tends to increase testosterone in a man and inhibits estrogen receptor sites. Yup, my chest area is developing definition and at 235 lb (I'm 71.5 inches tall) I can see my six pack. I still got a lot of fat to lose but the results have been dramatic.

AD works like a charm. It is the magic bullet for fat loss and muscular gains. I do keep my diet clean, so I rarely use cream, artificial sweetners, etc. I eat protein from meat, fish and poultry; my carbs from field greens or spring mixes. I use EVO, butter and mayo.

Last week, I averaged 2,410 calories but I zig-zag my calories. The highest consumed in a day was 3.091 calories and the lowest was 1,762 calories. One week on induction and I can't believe the results. I lost 10 lb. I'm sure a lotm of it was H2O but I did manage to put on ~1.6 lb of muscle. I measure myself by calipers, tapes, etc. and shoot the bird at BMI charts.

Specifically I averaged 180 g of fat, 16 grams of carbs and 181 grams of protein. Those figures workout (average weekly) to 67% fat, 31% protein and 3% carbs. I'm in anabolic heaven.

No, I don't use steroids. Thank you.

Cheers,
Norman

Cool Re: I've noticed something

Wow. Awesome.
I've actually been concerned as a woman about the exact thing you are writing about. I'm a pretty small frame and 182 pounds, and I'm pretty athletic. Without divulging my ridiculous BFP, I'll just say that in order to get to the size I'd like to be with the right BFP and Muscle % I'll have to lose close to 30 pounds of lean mass. I guess that includes water as well, but I'm wondering just how in the %@#& I'm going to lose that much muscle when all I'm eating is protein... I will definitely not look right if I have 20% body fat, and weigh 140 pounds. (or whatever).

Oh, the places my mind goes during my 2 hours on the cardio machines. Sigh.

Well- under normal circumstances, I try to follow the body for life high-intensity interval training/cardio program (with extra cardio, since I like it). If you're not familiar with it it's basically warm up followed by your own personal level 6-7-8-9 repeated several times with a final minute of your maximum output, followed by brief rest and then you're done. Same thing for cardio and weight training. Right now, since I'm doing more cardio than I normally would, I haven't been doing much weight training at all. Only 11 more days of this though. Any suggestions?

Wait a second, you want to lose muscle not fat? I don't get it?

Norman

I wrote this thread on May 31? I can't believe it. I stepped on scale for the heck of it today in a Publix and noticed I was weighing 228 lb. Never gave it a second thought. I'm not weighing myself until Monday, since during the weekend I just do cardio and do not weight train. So by Monday morning, two weeks after starting induction, I'll weigh myself and measure my fat%. I meant that I started at 245 lb. but was doing induction all wrong, but by the time I started that phase, I was down to 239-240 lb.

Talking Re: I've noticed something

Well... I want to lose both.

Currently, my BFP is 40.5% (shut up). So... 73.71 lb fat, 108.29 lb LBM.

Ideally (and I know because I've weighed it in the last 10 years) I'd weigh 115, with 20% body fat. So.. 23 lb body fat, 92 lb LBM.

So I'm gonna have to lose 16-17 pounds of LBM (this is good. I thought it was twice that). I guess some of that will be water.

Perhaps I'm worrying too much.

Ah, you'll do it fine. You'll reach your goal. Just be persistent. Tempus Fugit and before you know it, bam..you're there.

Cheers,
Norman
