mmmm, brandywines....one of my favorites....you can eat them like an apple...so good. I had hoped to get some seeding done today outside but Mother Nature isn't cooperating. March has been really nasty here....but the maples are budding so it won't be long now til garden season. Has anyone seen those *upside down* hanging tomato planters on tv? Looks kind of cool.

I tried doing the upside down thing in a bucket last year, in an effort to share some produce with our woodchuck Drilled a hole in the bottom to plant. Problem was, the thing dried out so fast, and the soil got wicked hot.

yeah, kind of gimmicky I suppose. I'm sitting here with pencil and paper trying to plan out my raised beds and trellis system for the cukes and tomatoes....wicked wind, rain and generally dreary here today.....

We had to cut a large limb and a few other limbs off our lemon tree and we got about 40 pounds of lemons.

What do you do with that many lemons?

Apparently you bag them and set them in the kitchen floor for me to decide what to do.

I could make marmalade but I don't even have any sugar here..or jars nor the extra money to get some now. We made some lemonchello once (sp?)

Any ideas?

I once saw a recipe for pickled lemons. Seems a bit repetitive to me, but I guess it's some ME country's specialty.
