| I am totally LOVING jicama! I think it has close to the texture of a very fresh, crisp apple, but it is not sweet like an apple. It does have a very mild sweetness to it, but wouldn't want you to bite into it expecting an apple! I do agree with Iamashrinky dink that there can be an essence of fresh from the garden peas sometimes. I have been eating it raw--best right out of the fridge super chilly and usually have it with some cheese to make sure I have some fat with it since it is a little higher in carbs than most veggies. I know some people that eat it with veggie dip. Just this morning I cut some up, squeezed on a little lime juice and tossed with some red onion slivers and cilantro...OMG--totally a new favorite recipe! Let us know what you think when you try it!

| I just bought southwestern jicama salad from whole foods...jicama, bell pepper, onion, canola, lemon juice, chili pepper, garlic, paprika, jalapeno pepper, salt and black pepper.... i have to be honest...i am not a fan of jicama...i will give it another shot and fry them up with oil and salt....but at this moment i do not love jicama... it has the texture of pear with no taste....
