Default Cheese sauce...omigod stop me!

Haha - dunno if this has been posted before, but I accidentally stumbled on cheese-sauce-in-a-minute the other night, fabulous so far on: cauliflower, broccoli, and swordfish. Found myself eating it with a spoon when my kids weren't looking.

Simple - in a microwaveable cup:

1/4 cup grated sharp cheddar (I used Cabot Seriously Sharp pre-grated)
1/4 heavy cream

Microwave 1 minute, 70% power (be sure to watch it so it doesn't boil over)

Pour over veggies, meats, husband, whatever.... Soooo good. Only make a little or you will eat too much.

Watch that pre-shredded cheese - its usually coated in starch so it doesn't stick together.

I looked at all the brands yesterday for shredded without the starch. No dice!! Now and then, I try to review labels just in case they get something in that's friendly to Atkins and convenient. No such animal with shredded chesse and WallyWorld. It's fun to grate anyway, anything that makes me be active to get to my meal is welcome!!

That's funny - I just got back from shopping where I re-checked all of the BBQ sauces hoping to find a sugar-free one

I have asked my Walmart to stock kc masterpiece classic, it is made with splenda. They used to carry it when it was called Low calorie, now they don't. So far, its not been added to the shelf. Same thing with Hoods Milk, used to have it, both the white and chocolate. What really makes me miffed is that they carry so many soy brands of milk now. I'm not a believer that soy is healthy for you at all. Anyhoo, Linda has a very good barbecue sauce, i use the smokey one and even tho it has a lot of ingredients, it goes together quick and is very good.

I've been planning on making Linda's sauce...but it would be so much more convenient to just pull it out of the fridge when I need it Have you tried freezing Linda's sauce? How long does it keep in the fridge?
I'm also hoping to make a shopping trip out to the states this summer - I'm making a list of things I can't get around here to look for down there - KC Masterpiece classic just made the list: -)

Me too Focus This cheese sauce fits the bill - all of 2 minutes to prepare. That's my kind of cooking right there.
