| I highlighted the ingredients that you cannot use on Atkins in red I highlighted the ingredients that you can use during the OWL phase and beyond in blue Quote:
What cracks me up about some recipes is that they add alot of a souring agent, like vinegar. Then they have to add alot of sugar to counterbalance all the vinegar they threw in. Or vice versa. And this recipe isn't kidding when it calls itself "sweet", but calling itself "onion" is stretching it alittle if it uses only 1 tablespoon of onion.

| I was always amazed how Subway is so proud of this fat-free sauce without any regard to all the sugar it contains. Making a low-carb copy is very difficult because of all the corn syrup plus other ingredients not allowed during Induction (balsamic vinegar, poppy seeds, buttermilk powder--other copycat recipes call for buttermilk baking powder aka bisquick) So you could try an Induction friendly version: Sweet Onion teriyaki sauce 1/2 cup light corn syrup sub 1/4 c. DaVinci Sweetener Sugar Free Syrup (Reviewers of this recipe all said the 1/2 c. was way too sweet) 1 tablespoon minced white onion 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 2 teaspoons white distilled vinegar 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar ELIMINATE - not allowed on Induction 1 teaspoon brown sugar sub 1 tsp. Sugar Twin Brown or Sweet 'n Low Brown 1 teaspoon buttermilk powder ELIMINATE - not allowed on Induction 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice 1/8 teaspoon poppy seeds ELIMINATE - not allowed on Induction 1/8 teaspoon salt pinch cracked black pepper pinch garlic powder OR You could try Walden Farms Jersey Sweet Onion dressing. p.s. I'm not an Atkins know-it-all, just a foodie.

| I'm not a fan of the walden products, kinda thin and nasty. The davinci syrup is a great idea, still hoping that I can make it yummy |

| Just a thought: You could try adding 1/2 tsp of cream in lieu of the buttermilk powder rather than eliminating it. Or try it without & add it if you feel something is missing

| bread isn't allowed on induction -- low carb or not. The only foods allowed are those on the acceptable food list. (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html.
