Laptop Probs

DS was playing a game on laptop. Said he left it running to go potty and came back to find blank screen with a cursor at the top. We restarted and have the same thing. This is the only way DD can do some of her school work so someone please tell me the stupid little thing I need to know to make it run again.

Sorry to hear this, Lauren. Could be several reasons why this happened. Sounds like hardware but difficult to determine. Have you tried anything other than restarting the laptop? Which laptop is it? What operating system? Does cursor move or is it stationary? Which game was your son playing?

I have tried nothing else. I was afraid to blindly play with it.
It is a compaq Presario 2200. It Operates with Win. XP. Cursor is stationary in upper left corner. He was playing runescape.com

Well it will not go into safe mode I sure wish you lived next door-lol thanks for putting up with me. Off to the PC shop.
