Reflux Acidity and apple cider vinegar?

I have been diagnosed with gerd in the past and am once again having some uncomfortable symptoms associated with this disease. I have been doing some research online and have heard numerous reports of drinking diluted apple cider vinegar to heal this condition. Has anyone else had any experience with gerd and apple cider vinegar? I was really hoping my weight loss would help these symptoms but this last week has been really bad for me with lots of chest discomfort etc (yes I have had my cardiac enzymes checked, an ekg etc and was found to have a healthy heart). Does this diet of dairy and meat contribute to gerd? I havent had a flare up like this for over a year but it is a totally panicked feeling when you have gerd with chest symptoms. I would love to hear anyone else's experience with this. Also is apple cider vinegar ok for atkins? I looked up the nutritional info and it is 0 carbs and no sugar so I think it should be fine?
