| No way! I used to do that. I thought I was the only person who did that. It was such a problem. While I didn't put on a lot of weight, it did mess up any diet I tried to go on. I wouldn't remember eating in the middle of the night but I would find the evidence next to my bed in the morning. I have stopped doing that since I've started Atkins, though.

| My mother has had this on and off throughout her life, though not in the last couple of years, fortunately for her. She will get up in the middle of the night and eat large quantities of things she may not even necessarily love. She will wake up the next day and find things left out on the counter - the bread bag left open and the mayo jar sitting there with the lid off, half a jar of peanut butter eaten, etc. She does not normally remember much of anything at all about it. It seems to bother her more during times of high levels of stress. Besides being terrible for her diet, it was also dangerous in one instance - she had a drinking glass with tea stains that she had poured bleach water in and left sitting on the counter by the sink. In the midst of her middle of the night binging, she gulped a big drink from that glass. It woke her up instantly and she spit most of it out, fortunately. Stress levels going down seems to have helped hers. I think it was suggested once it had something to do with her blood sugar levels varying wildly, also.
