Default 22 points down!!!!!

Thanks to Atkins low carb eating and exercising my butt off, My cholesterol has dropped from a whopping 250 to 228!!! It is still a little high, but my HDL (my good cholesterol is high too) I was really excited to hear the good news. I'm going to get it checked again in 6 months, so I've got to stick with Atkins and exercise!!!

Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

Not really. She was more interested in “balanced” eating and portion size. More of the low fat stuff. I’m going back in 3 months, so when I’ve lost more weight by then and lower my cholesterol a few more points, she will see that Atkins is for me : ) She did applaud me on the weight loss so far and encouraged me to up my exercise. Encouraged me to train for a marathon. She said a patient of hers weighed 300 pounds and walked a half marathon with a cane. Since talking with her I have been more aware of the amount of sat fat I was eating and trying to eat healthier fats.

good for you. if you know your HDL and your total cholesterol you can figure out your ratio of TC/HDL the cardiologist like it to be between 3-5 for breing healthy lower being better. Because my Atkins WOL HDL is so high I'm just barely a 2 now and my doc is very happy.

Wow 2big, that's awesome! I was a 5.something and now I'm a 4.something I don't have the numbers with me, but it was a much better ratio.
