| Hi Msbombay... congrats on being 49 pounds down! What was your B/P before starting Atkins? I'm no expert, but weight loss usually helps B/P figures. But it can be a slow business, so might take a while to come down. (correct me if I'm wrong, anyone) What does your doctor say? Does anyone in your family have high blood pressure? There is also a genetic factor to this. Have you read the stickies on this forum... there are some interesting things there. Try not to worry and above all keep low carbing, exercising (which is good for blood pressure) and drinking your water.

| you don't have any stats in your siggy so we can't tell if 49 pounds is a drop in the bucket of your total weight needed to lose or darn close to goal but did you know folk who are 25 pounds overweight have 5,000 extra miles of blood vessels for the heart to pump blood through? Are you doing the mandatory exercise part of your Atkins plan too? that should lower blood pressure too. Have you been monitoring your blood pressure regularly? one in the office high check doesn't high blood pressure make. many folk get nervous or stressed about doc visits and shoot their pressure up. are you on a low sodium version of Atkins since you are water retaining still doing your Atkins? did your doctor do some blood work to see if your electrolytes level was okay?
