| it will depend on the cause of your high blood pressure. chamomile tea helps relax folk which could relieve some stress in dussed high blood pressurem. I'm ore surprized being italian he didn't ask you about garlic as it has a chemical that induces blood vessel muscles to relax.

| There are some herbs that are said to be "cardiotonic", in that they help with heart function. Chamomille is one of those herbs. Would I use that solely to control or lower high blood pressure? No. I'd go the diet and exercise route because that's shown to be very effective---yeah, it's harder than drinking a pill or gulping down a few cups of tea a day, but it's more effective. Plus herbal medications are still medications: they have side effects and toxicity levels.

| Thanks 2big and Megs. Garlic is interesting... seems to be so very good for you on lots of levels! Not sure the cause of this chap's high BP. Next time I see him, must ask. Megs, I mentioned exercise to him too. He seemed quite clued up about that... just asked about the tea. Maybe he was just making conversation. I agree with you though, I wouldn't rely on tea alone.
