Nikki, I have never used those BP meds, but since I started exercising 6 months ago and losing weight with this WOE I don't have to worry about such things! My doctor took me off of BP meds because my BP fell as my weight decreased and my activity increased. As young as you are your BP should do the same thing. (Follow the doctors advice!) Don't worry about the effect of your BP meds on stalling, just set your mind on the goal and move forward! |

Thank you for responding!!! I was starting to think no one was going to LoL... I did notice it start to go down, but then it shot back up again. Even after they put me on meds, it was still 140/85 average, which is a lot better than 160/100 like it was. Excercise and diet brought it down to 138/80, somedays a little bit lower. But I was concerned because after I lost my water weight, I was registering dark purple on the ketostix, but not losing anything and kind of +/- half a pound here and there which made me think perhaps it was the meds. Goal focusing is always an excellent idea!! Thank you for reminding me |

| Nikki, This isn't a "sprint!" it is a long distance run to a better life and better life style. Quit looking at the scale! I only use the scale once a month and sometimes I forget. I do keep a close eye on the number of carbs I'm eating and the regularity of my excercise. The weight will take care of it's self if I watch what and how I eat! |

| I used to be on Norvasc and Hyzaar. As the weight has dropped, my BP has also. The doc let me halve the Norvasc for awhile and at my last visit he said I could try stopping it. I take my BP at home every day and it seems fine to me. I'll take my numbers in for my next visit to get the doc's final blessing on eliminating the Norvasc. And hopefully when I get the rest of this weight off I can stop the Hyzaar too. I don't think the meds affect my weight loss, but I was on them before I started this WOL. |

| Thanks, Purple. Im glad to have heard from someone who knows what the heck im talking about when I say "norvasc" LoL When I was noticing my BP drop, I started taking my meds (all 2.5mg) every other night, rather than every day, just so my BP wouldnt drop TOO low.. Now im starting to see that I might never be able to be off, even with faithful dieting and excercise - gotta love your family LOL |
