| Me personally? I would do a very strict Atkins and get my results down the road and see. Read page 176. When you go into fat burning ketosis, your triglycerides should drop, as you will be burning stored fat for energy, which is made up of triglycerides. My total cholesterol has gone from 190 to 162 and my ratio is quite favorable. What was your ratio? that is actually more important than any one total. Also, a wonderful way to get rid of bad cholesterol is to increase your 'good' HDL cholesterol with exercise. It acts like a 'broom' to sweep the bad stuff to your liver to be metabolized before it can form plaque in arteries. Plus it makes you feel great!

| I agree with momto - give it three months of Atkins. You have to eat during those three months after all, (!) so my feeling is you may as well be following a proven, tried and tested healthy regime. Stick on plan - do it by the book, and see how it goes. CP |

| I'm confused about what your cholesterol levels were before you went off Atkins for three weeks. You've been an Atkineer for two years, so I'm wondering whether you ever had your levels checked back then? I tend to agree that you need to give it some time since your three week break. Exercise is great for helping cholesterol results improve.
