Default Lower your blood pressure with herbs

I am sick of taking pills in the morning, especially the ones that Dr Atkins lists as problem medications. So, I have been doing a bit of on-line research. Does anyone take any of the following herbs.
Astralagus, is a Chinese/Indian herb that has been used for centuries to treat heart disease. It contains stuff like amino acids, flavonids, and there is some info that it will lower blood pressure also.
Dandelion, a natural diuretic and excellen alternative to water pills, which I also take,
CatsClaw? another natural diuretic.
Hawthorn is suppose to be used widely in Europe to lower blood pressure.
Any comments? I know its seems that I am trading a lot of pills for a lot of pills.

Before you trade pills for herbs one needs to understand the cause of their high blood pressure. If your hypertenison is caused by salt sensetiviety then diuretics would asssit you in shedding the salts and lower your blood pressure. Calcuim and potaissium rich foods are very efective at this. But too much potassium can be fatal too so talk with a qualified doc about your decisions first.

if you are looking for natural diuretics look no further then the induction foods lists. asperagus is one as are many other. the horseradish herbs in the whooshie pie recipe is too. PArsely, avacado, spinach, nuts watermellon, dandilions, mushrooms, tomotoes, brocolli, oinions, summer squash, egplant and looseleaf lettuce are all diuretics because of their high potassium values. All meats are high in potassium too.

Here are some chemicals in plants that act as diuretics too.v here is an article on secondary compounds in plants that act as diuretics too and why drying them to teas and such isn't a ggod way to get the chemicals.http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl..._n8962473/pg_4

Happy low carbing

What herbs or foods would you go with to relax your blood vessels and act like a calcium channel blocker?
