I've tried the pancake syrup and although it's not Mrs. Butterworth's, it was ok. I have tried the Banana Walnut pancakes but made them as waffles. 1 waffle = 2 pancakes. They are great. Real walnuts in them too. Slather some butter on them, put some of the syrup, or not...I think they would taste good with just the butter or maybe some cream cheese??

| I liked the pancake syrup very much. Although like you said it was not Mrs. Butterworth but it satisfied my want for the sweetness on the pancakes. now the Atkins pancakes is something I did not enjoy very much. But I could get used to them . Although I was never really a pancake eater anyway.

I have so far bought the Davinci and Log Cabin pancake syrups. Both taste OK, but they are so runny! I feel like they make my pancakes so soggy. As for any of the pancake mixes, I've tried many and have not liked them as pancakes, but all of them have been good for waffles. The flax-o-meal butter pecan pancake mix is my favorite so far.

I actually really like the syrup. Often, I will mix it with Davinci Raspberry SF syrup and it is wonderful on pancakes. I even top it with a little whipped cream. I also agree that the Flax o Meal Butter Pecan pancake mix is excellent. I've also found many great recipes for pancakes by doing a search of low carb recipes. I see this as a fun challenge to find the perfect pancake recipe![

Whip the pancake syrup with softened butter. This will give it a better and thicker mouthfeel. Start with a smaller amount of syrup than butter (20% to 80% ratio) and increase depending on the texture and flavor you want. ThickenThin (Expert Foods) makes a product that helps mimic the thick mouth feel of sugar syrup; I have not yet tested it but it might be worthwhile.

I'm in Japan where there is no such thing as low carb, but I did find Cary's Sugar Free in the commissary. Its got 12g of Carbs, <1g fiber, 0 sugars and 11g sugar alcohol. I didn't think it was bad. Could someone check and see how it compares with Atkins. I know it's made with aspartame, citric acid and somewhere it even mentions maple flavoring!!
