Default Natural Ovens Bakery Low-Carb Breads

Anyone in the Chicago area tried this? They have two varities, and are now available at Dominick's and Jewel. (I used to have to go to the health food store to get it.) ONLY 3 net carbs per slice, and tastes like BREAD - not that rubbery stuff that Atkins passes off as bread - I literally had to spit it out! This stuff has to be kept frozen, though, because it has no perservatives. Been having a slice of toast with cinnamon/splenda cream cheese for breakfast - ahhhh, delicious.

Hi Val

I'm in NW Indiana and our local Jewel is carrying this brand also. I'm glad to hear a testimonial for it. I'm still in induction so I haven't tried it yet. Which one did you get the "golden" or the other one?

I had to check and see if the company had a website (and they do). Here's one that tells you if (and where) they have stores:

Much to my regret, there isn't a store close enough to me to get some and try it. :grimble

I started with the original, which tastes like a really hearty whole wheat - good for mock danish too. I just bought a loaf of the "Golden," and this stuff is great - really nutty - full of flax seeds and sunflower seeds. Great with plain cream cheese - been having a slice of toast for breakfast, and it keeps me satisfied until noon. I keep a loaf of each in my freezer now.
