Default Low carb sherbert? Does it exsist?

One of the gals at work is looking for low carb sherbert because her hubbie was put on a low-carb diet by his doctor for health reasons. Of course since I'm doing Atkins, everyone comes to me for low-carb stuff, but I don't have an answer on this one!

Anyone know if low-carb sherbert exsists and if it does where she could get some?

I have been looking for some for over a year so I would love to know the answer to that as well--I know that a company called LeCarb was coming out with a "frozen desert" but I haven't seen it in the stores yet--since they did not refer to it as an "ice cream" but a "frozen desert" I'm hoping that it may be more like a shrebert. Sorry I'm not much help. :no

Here's a link--I'm wondering about the lemon and strawberry flavors

Me again, man, you've gotten me obsessing about sherbert now--anyway, I found a couple of really easy and yummy sounding recipes if she doesn't mind whipping some up..

Easy Berry Sherbet
Ingredients:·
1 cup cream ·
1 cup sliced fresh strawberries-could use raspberries or blackberries, chilled ·
1/4 c. Splenda (or to taste) or another sugar subsitute

Preparation Directions:Pour cream into divided ice cube trays and freeze until solid, 2 to 3 hours. Just before serving, let frozen cream cubes stand at room temperature for 5 minutes. Place in a food processor and pulse until cubes are broken up, then puree until smooth. Add berries, 1/3 at a time, and sugar substitute. Continue adding berries and pulse until smooth. Spoon into dessert dishes and serve immediately or place in a freezer container and refreeze to desired firmness. Serves: 4

1 package sugar free jello -- raspberry or orange
3/4 cup heavy cream -- whipped

Disolve the geletin in 1 cup of boiling water. Let cool. Whip the cream. Pour cooled geletin into whipped cream, fold gently. Set into freezer for 20 minutes. Enjoy! Great quick snack.Makes about 4 servings

Wow!!! Thanks. She was telling me she would make her own if she knew how, but didn't have an ice cream maker. This will help her a lot! :joy

You're my hero! :hug

Just a little tip: there's only one "r" in "sherbet".

I am still pretty new to this, but I just drove by TCBY and they are advertising a new "low-carb lovers" frozen yogurt. Of course I had to try it and it was sooo good. Only 4 net carbs for a 1/2 cup serving, but of course the serving size they give you is at least a cup! Anyway, it might be a good option.
