Default Where to buy - retail stores?

I know that I can buy the Atkins food online but am wondering if any stores sell the Atkins brand or other low carb brand foods? I live in MA.
Thanks!

I live in Maryland, so I'm not sure what stores you have. I find low carb products at GNC (General Nutrition Center) often found in the malls. Also, RiteAid drugstores have recently added a health food and supplement aisle. Safeway food stores has a special aisle too. Also, we have a TraderJoes store that is wonderful. I copied cities in MA from the TraderJoes website for you. Here they are:
• Acton • Needham
• Arlington • Newton
• Boston • Shrewsbury
• Brookline • Swampscott
• Cambridge • Tyngsboro
• Framingham

I hope one of them is near you! They are pretty competitive in pricing and a fun place to visit! Good luck!

Sorry I can't help with MA, but while we're on retail stores, I'll mention some for those who may be in the Austin, Texas area:

Central Market (HEB chain) - went to the Lamar location, they had a couple of displays up. Read the packages carefully though, because some lc bread meant for the freezer was happily thawing on the shelves. Only place I've found cinnamon pork rinds though.

Great Health Nutrition Center (183 at Braker Lane) - as large a selection as most websites offer. Sometimes allows sample tasting of food. Many varieties of frozen bread. Full address:

4815 West Braker Lane #530
Austin, TX 78759

On the atkins website (as well as some of the other low carb vendors) They have a Store Locator Feature. You plug in your zip code and it tells you what stores sell their products. I have found some great stores that I would have otherwise never known about that way...

Also some chain stores that carry low carb products
Walmart
Safeway
GNC
Vitamin World
Vitamin Shoppe
CVS

Good Luck!

This may not help you (unless you're travelling), but here in the South, we can buy Atkins at Kroger supermarkets.

A lot of Atkins is also available at Target and Wal-Marts.

Good luck!

Hi all. I'm looking for stores that carry low-carb foods of any type (not just Atkins) in the North or Northwest suburbs of Chicago. (anywhere near these areas: Lake Zurich, Long Grove, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, Northbrook, Schaumburg, Wheeling, etc.)

I am especially seeking these hard to find must-haves: shirataki noodles, black soybeans, psyllium husks, granulated maltitol (for baking), low-carb flours (almond flour, soy flour, flaxseed meal, etc.)

Whole Foods does carry black soybeans in a can, but they sell out quickly after every shipment. I did find soy flour there as well, but they don't have any of the other items, even flaxseed meal, which was a surprise.

Default Lo-Carb Stuff

Ditto on GNC & Wal-Mart, GNC seems to have the most so far. Noticing that my Walgreens is starting to pick up a few here and there as well.

Hi KD

I'm Massachusetts too. GNC is an excellent option. I'm not sure where in MA you are, but the GNC in Canton actually has a frozen section with low-carb breads, etc.

Stop & Shop has started carrying a TON of Atkins products. I just noticed a whole section over the weekend (bake mixes, sauces, ketchup, etc. etc.) It was in their "diet" section where you find nutritional supplements and such.

Good luck!

I know you're looking for retailers in your area, but if you don't luck out netrition.com is good and so is vitaglo.com. I live in Rochester, NY and the vitaglo folks are in Syracuse--*very* good prices on low-carb products, in my opinion, and they ship. (They don't carry DaVinci syrups, more's the pity, but their prices on Atkins products are better than Netrition's.)

KD--Not sure if you're still looking for lo-carb stuff, but I know Whole Foods in Bedford MA is carrying the almond meal, etc... Haven't checked for shirataki there yet. Maybe I'll go see if they have some today. I know there is a Oriental Market on Spring Street in Chelmsford that might carry shirataki and any other "oriental" type foods. Thinking of heading up there after lunch-time today too.

Good Luck!

Kathy
