| I use several of the dressings on a regular basis. I like the bacon ranch & the honey dijon. Maple Groves makes several excellent low carb dressings. Give them a try!!

| I've tried the caesar and ranch dressings, and also the mayo. Yuck to all three. the mayonnaise was like straight vinegar.

| I have the bar-b-que sauce and it is delicious! I made bar-b-que pork the other night -- regular for the family and Walden Farm version for myself - I was very happy with the taste! I've never tried any of their other products but the bar-b-que sauce is definately a winner!! Carole

| I ate all of my salads with out dressing for 4 weeks, when I came across theses in the grocery store,I bought all of their dressing I like all of them,I find them a treat since they have 0 in calories, sugar carbs, etc:The ketchup,is excellent for being on a program. The best thing is NO Sugar coated drowning in high fructose corn syrup. Their blue berry syrup, is good if you cant have real maple syrup.Their fruit dips are ok, but I wish they would provided more recipes for their products. They are on line and will ship to your house, tho am in northern Indiana at this moment, and the store Albright's Grocery Store - Grocery Stores in Corunna, IN.carrys almost everything they sell. |

| I tried the ketchup. Its horrible. I immediately threw it away. Tastes nothing like ketchup. Heinz makes one that is not quite as low in carbs, but that tastes like ketchup. After the ketchup, I can't bring myself to try anymore of their products. |

| High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is in almost all ketchup. Look at the list of ingredients on one of your drinks or products. I guarantee you will most likely find High Fructose Corn Syrup as one of the ingredients. Hfcs is now commonly found in almost all processed foods, including: * soft drinks (Coca-Cola, Pepsi) * fruit juices (Snapple, Ocean Spray Cranberry )and canned fruits * breakfast cereals (Kellogg’s cornflakes) * ice cream and dairy products (Dreyer’s, Yoplait yogurts) * cookies and crackers (Nabisco Ritz crackers) * soups and sauces (Campbell’s vegetable soup) * condiments and salad dressings (Heinz ketchup) * baking products and baked goods (Brownberry bread) * candy bars and gum (PowerBar) * jams, jellies and syrup (Smucker’s grape jelly) * cough syrups and low-fat diet foods (Robitussin, Vicks) Food manufacturers embraced High Fructose Corn Syrup because it is cheaper than sucrose (table sugar) and mixes well with a variety of products, including beverages, baked goods, jams and jellies, candies, and dairy products. Excess fructose intake has been associated with adverse health effects such as: metabolic syndrome, elevated triglyceride levels, hypertension, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, excess uric acid levels (associated with gout), and elevated levels of advanced glycation end products (linked with aging and complications of diabetes). Excess fructose intake may contribute to hypertension. High blood pressure is a well-known comorbidity associated with obesity, hyperinsulinemia, and hyperlipidemia Reasons why you should avoid HCFS: * Travels straight to the liver where it is over works the liver.. * Contributes to the development of diabetes and tissue damage. A recent study presented at the 2007 national meeting of the American Chemical Society found new evidence that soft drinks sweetened with high fructose corn syrup contains high levels of reactive compounds that have been shown by others to trigger cell and tissue damage that cause diabetes. * Does not stimulate insulin production or enhance, leptin, a hormone involved in appetite regulation. Because insulin and leptin act as key signals in regulating how much food you eat, this suggests that dietary fructose may contribute to increased food consumption and weight gain. * Contains no enzymes, vitamins or minerals; instead, it takes micro-nutrients from your body. The fructose in HFCS is different from the natural fructose you get when you eat a small piece of whole fruit, which contains the nutrients needed for your body to assimilate sugar. * Increases your triglyceride and LDL (bad cholesterol) levels. Triglycerides are the chemical form of fat found in foods and in your body. Studies show that elevated blood levels of triglycerides increases your risk of heart disease. * Is almost always made from genetically modified corn, which may increase your risk of developing corn food allergies. The problem with corn allergies are that once you have a corn allergy from GMO corn you will have an allergy to even healthy organic corn products. * Corn based products such as HFCS have also been shown to increase osteoporosis, tooth decay, anemia and osteoarthritis. * Fructose interacts with birth control pills and can elevate insulin levels in women on the pill. * Fructose inhibits copper metabolism leading to a deficiency of copper, which can cause increased bone fragility, anemia, ischemic heart disease and defective connective tissue formation among others. The list goes on and on. If you want to lose weight and drastically improve your health, stop drinking soda and processed fruit juices. These beverages are sweetened with almost eight teaspoons of fructose per serving. Drink pure water instead and you will be well on your way to improved health. You should also severely limit your consumption of food that contains high fructose corn syrup. I like the Waldens products as its not filled with chemicals.I find the ketchup ok,its better then nothing at all.Matter of fact I like all of the products they put out.It depends on what you are willing to live with out.Make your own ketchup its pretty easy. |
