Soda W/Splenda???

Hi everyone i read all these posts about all the people that quit drinking diet soda after starting atkins..but i remember somewhere in the book it said you could drink diet soda if its sweetened with splenda..right? because that's what im doing..i hope its ok..if you have info about that please let me know..Thanks.

Hi Gina6908! You are correct. Ideally we would be better off if we did not use any artificial sweeteners. Dr. Atkins allowed for 3 sweeteners per day. He said Splenda (sucralose) was fine because of the low impact on blood sugar, but he said no to aspartame.

Some people get cravings or stall if they consume artificial sweetners. If you don't get cravings and you are still losing then it will probably be ok for you.

Just make sure you check the can/bottle on exactly what the serving size it. Don't forget to count the Splenda carb. As clogger pointed out we are allowed 3 per day.

what diet caffeine free drink is made with splenda. i hadnt found one from sierra mist to coca cola. what i have been drinking in pure american flavored water-pomegrante and cranberry hadnt found a coke though

Hi nu-me33! Diet Rite is made with Splenda. They have cola, white grape, red raspberry, tangerine, and more flavors. I don't know of any other brand that is made with Splenda.

thanks a bunch. is it like one packet per can.?dont laugh, i just need to know because i have decaf coffee in the morning and i normally use two splenda, just needed to know to make adjustments

Well the one i drink is diet shasta cola and its actually pretty good and its made with splenda but anyways thanx for the replies i didn't know i was limited to 3 packets of splenda a day so thanx guys now i know.

I just posted a question asking if Diet Rite was okay during induction...but now that we're talking about Splenda Carb Counting....Does anyone know how many Splenda Carbs would be in 1 can per say? or 1 cup? (of Diet Rite...or any splenda soda)
