| I had the atkins penne tonight. It is a little like flavored cardboard or very stale regular pasta. Although it is edible. For those of us who can't have the real thing, this will do once in a while. My recommendation: use lots of cheese on top. I had it with cheese, chicken, and Walden farms alfredo sauce (which is not bad for something with no carbs or calories).

| I would expirement with spaghetti squash, I think its much better then soy pasta, and cheaper. I made some with a garlic cream sauce tonight, and it was AWESOME. I'm sure it would be good under some meatballs and sauce too. |

| I tried the cheese and pasta and it was like eating rubber. Two thumbs down for this one.

| Atkins does a lot of things right. Spaghetti is not one of them. The texture alone is terrible. It is very chalky and flat. I read on CNN today that any wheat pasta is acceptable, I may look into that. At 9 carbs a serving, I did have high hopes for the spaghetti. I would not recommend it to anyone who enjoyed pasta. It's not worth it. |

| I got the penne pasta. It is a bit cardboardish, but I make it with butter, garlic, and either canned tuna or chicken, and it's not bad. Crappy pasta is better than no pasta at all, and since this is the first time I've had pasta since september, I'm not about to complain.

| I spent $5 on a box of Atkins Macaroni & Cheese and it was simply the most horrific stuff I have ever put in my mouth. The "noodles" took twice as long to cook as the box stated, they were crumbly and strange in texture and tasted exactly like concentrated cardboard. I even Dr'd the sauce with grated cheese and butter and ended up only being able to eat probably 8 or 9 noodles before I threw the whole thing away. It was so bad that my cat (who eats everything) wouldn't even fall for one noodle and ran away. I have no idea how this ever passed a taste-test and it shouldn't be on the shelves. Next time, if I absolutely have to have pasta, I will take a fork-full of the real stuff off of a friend's plate. I'd really like my $5 back and the experience erased from my memory banks. Simply awful. |
