My experience? 1. Move out of extended induction (which means add 5 more carbs from veggies to your daily eating). 2. make sure you are taking in enough fat (60 plus % of your calories), and 3. make sure you are getting MORE than your BMR limit of calories per day. My BMR says I should take in about 1600 calories to maintain, I take in closer to 2000 and lost 2.8 lbs this past week despite TOM. This is a learning curve for me, but this is what my week has looked like and it got me out of a long and frustrating plateau of hovering near and above and below the same weight since Jan 1st.

I agree with Nichole. Make sure your fat % is up, move on to OWL (that breaks the stall for many) by adding 5 gr of veggies to your diet. Make sure MOST of your carbs are from vegetables. Make sure you are eating above your BMR.

I take Alive! womens over 50 (no iron) multivitamins and count them as 1 carb.

I would also eat very cleanly, as in: avoiding common stallers like bar/shakes/sweeteners and limiting dairy/cheese and processed foods (deli meat, bacon, sausage). Cook your own food so you have no questionable ingredients. Read your labels for everything, especially canned foods, and avoid them as much as possible.

We all want to lose weight fast, but it doesn't often happen that way. There are advantages to losing slow, mainly that you change your eating habits permanently so you keep the weight off.

As for physical activity, talk to your doctor about options based on your POTS condition. Perhaps yoga or walking in the pool would be an option.

As for multivitamin, I take the senior multivitamin without iron, even though I'm not a senior. It has less iron than typical multi's, and you should be consuming enough iron on Atkins by eating meat.

What I think may also be a prob. is that I have not been eating enough period. The hardest thing for me is getting down breakfast, which I know is the most important meal of the day. For the sweetners I usally have 1 packet of splenda with my decaf coffee. When is it safe to start adding in nuts and seeds as I move into OWL and adding 5 more carbs???

Adding nuts/seeds comes in the third level/rung of OWL, so depending on how many new foods and extra 5 net carb additions you try on rungs 1 & 2 it could be a month or maybe more after finishing induction that you get to add an ounce of them.
Are you having problems getting most of your net carbs from vegetables on induction?

I would recommend finding your critical carb level for losing before even trying to move onto the higher rungs (nuts and dairy et al). Why? Well, I have spent four months trying to find my ccll while on those higher rungs and it was a gong show. I have now cut back to level 1 and am going to keep adding my weekly addition of 5 net carbs per day from veggies until I stop losing for an entire week. Once I know my CCLL it will be so much easier to work with the other rungs. And really, to tell you the honest truth, the amount of nuts one gets to consume is rather disappointing. It is a nice addition to a salad but it always leaves me feeling like I wish I could have twice that many pan roasting almonds in butter and sprinkling them with splenda are like dessert to me now though

Nichole, keep in mind that, based on the experiences of others on the board, you may be able to consume more veggie carbs than other kinds and still lose.
