Default 1 Month Atkinsversary...tad long, get your water

As of today, the 28th of August I have been true to Atkins way of eating and I have been reading the book.

What's so big about a one month anniversary following this WOE? Well, It's kind of like this, recovering alcoholics celebrate the successes one step, one hour, one day, one week, one month, and eventually one year.

Induction was the beginning where counting the hours, then days and finally reaching the 2 weeks clean and 10 pounds lighter. Wow, what a great feeling!

OWL has become a great stepping stone into helping the days and weeks tick by faster with not worrying about food. I don't worry anymore (I'm enjoying Rung 2 keeping my carbs between 25 and 30 a day, and still losing weight and inches) Instead, I find that I look forward to what I choose to eat instead of what some people would say I "can't" eat. There is no "can't", there is only "choice".

So, one month later since I first restarted my motivation to stick to this WOE with a clean start and renewed energy, I'm down 14 pounds and 6.25 inches.

Atkins means more then just low carbing and cutting out foods that contribute to weight gain and bad health, it's about control.

That's what Atkins means to me, I can control what goes in to my body that works to lose weight and makes me feel like the me I like again from the inside out.

One month ago I started on a Thursday, it wasn't after any major holiday, although it was right after my daughter's birthday. I can truly look back and agree that I would have regreted not starting then and waiting until the monday that never came around or the next holiday to make excuses to sabotage my goals, hopes, motivation, and dreams.

This past month hasn't been easy. I've been met with strife, family drama, and personal battles I have not shared on the board, nor do I wish to bore anyone about it. But I have to say, along with finding control over eating, I've managed to find control over situations that I would normally run to food for comfort. Another little milestone if you will.

Along with getting my eating under control, I've also been faithful and true to myself with exercise. Dr. A said in his book that exercise is essential and part of this way of eating....if your not doing exercise you're not following Atkins. I take that to heart and find the exercise challenges a great asset and motivation to keep going.

And so there you have it. My one month little blurb for the day, little being a joke of course, but you should see my journal here at my desk...it's 5 pages long today!

Thanks for reading and thanks to many of you who have been a great pillar of support since I climbed back on to the LC Train.

On ward to working on month 2!
