| for me it was a combination of being where I was 10 years ago... and the charts.....and I've been really low before.. down to 98 - 105 range for several years..... looking back at pictures.. it was really too thin for me... didn't look well....... 120-125 is good for me imo... I just hope i make it... I think some people think they look better thinner... when they really don't... |

| I haven't been under 200 pounds in about 20 years so I don't really have a roll back weight I can remember LOL. I picked mine because it seemed reasonable. It might be adjusted as time goes on, but for now it gives me something to shoot for.

| I think it is best to concentrate on measurements and size. I have a goal weight right now that I have not been at for a good 10 years either, but it is just a number. If I reach a size that I am comfortable at and wearing a size that flatters me, and I weigh 185 lbs, then so be it. I will start to maintain then.

| Goal weight should be based on a healthy for you body fat percent not where you were x yrs ago or what looked good x yrs ago either since you may or may not depending on your eating history in those yrs between have more lean body tissue now or less if say for examply you have been a long time yoyo dieter. Your doc can help you decide what a healthy weight based on your lean body weight is. Don't worry about those charts neither the BMI nor the height weight charts know how much of your weight is lean tissue. if you have been going to the gym and eatting your Atkins right you should have more lean body weight on the way down then you did on the way up in weight too so scale weight can be decieving as many of us found out when were were goalies at a heavier then we thought it should be body weight casue our body fat was in the lower part of the healthy range and our projected goal weights would have been unhealthy for us. There is a lot of research and science out there to help y'all set realistic for your body goal weights. use it happy low carbing.

| I set my goal weight for 150. I am 5'5". I haven't seen that weight in 14 years. I just remember feeling healthy and good about myself at that weight. I felt strong.

| I'm 5'3" and my goal is 150. I have been over 150 lb since I was 12, so frankly, getting anywhere in that ballpark will be a miracle! I have no illusions of being 115 lb or anything... I was over 200 lb when I graduated high school.... |

| I use the BMI chart for a "ballpark" goal weight. That is when I reach that figure I'll re-evaluate myself. If I need to lose more, I will. If not, then I've hit goal. I don't get hung up on the scale numbers. Right now I weigh more than I look like I weigh---and that's fine with me because I fit into smaller clothing.

| My goal wasn't really a number either. It was an overall improvement in health and energy. I was tired of being tired! And more and more of my clothing was spandex and/or elastic. I wore big shirts all the time to cover up the couch potato I had become. I was very unhappy and knew I had to take charge of my health before I got any older. Atkins is so much more than weight loss, although that's what attracts people to the plan. Once you follow the plan IN TOTAL (including exercise and supplements), you realize how great it is to feel absolutely healthy! To me, the weight loss is secondary! Betty
