| I thought the same thing to myself the other day, as I like the "zero carb" bake mix by carbsense, and it's no longer on the shelves at walmart. I think it's b/c the "Craze" has died down. I wish it hadn't. It's sort of sad that there aren't as many low-carbers out there these days. They think it's a phase. I know it's not, though! I have tried every diet there is in the book and this is the ONLY lifestyle that I see major improvements in my attitude, energy, and everything else. Let me know if you ever find more low carb products. I personally stay away from the sugar alcohols and the bars and shakes. The baking products work well for me when I mix an egg or 2 with some cinnamon and some butter. Yum.

| alot of companies rushed into the low carb frankenfoods markets thinking they were mining for gold with the low carb consumers, but many came tasted it and rejected it. Others discovered those mythical magical counting noncounting sugar alcohols were just that a myth and the companies went out of business quickly. Some of the larger companies are still in business and some sell on the net if you really need that stuff to keep you low carb. Happy low carbing.

| i wont really miss the bars and shakes if they disappear but i really hope alot of the bake mixes stay around. I'm really impressed with Carbquick. Though we can't get it in the stores here..i can order it online. I think it's the best lc baking product out there and it's indispensible.

| I've never used any of the baking products, would you say they are more for the maintenance phase of atkins rather then the weight loss phase? |

| I only ever used processed low-carb products for baking at home on weekends - and even they were around well before the recent Atkins "craze" began. Unsweetened cocoa, Brown Sugar Twin, nut butters for cookies/pies & nut flours for pie crusts, etc (which you can make at home with a food processor), butter, cheeses (cottage, cream, Ricotta), low-carb chocolate chips, canned pumpkin, flax ... the list of useful ingredients that have always been around is limitless. We're not finished; we just have to remain creative. Low-carb goodies always taste best when you make them yourself anyway!

| you can make your own Low carb bake mix much cheaper. there are several recipes in the data base some use soy if you can handle the taste others use nut flours and protein powders. You can buy the wheat protein isolte and make your own version of the bake mixes using it.

| Sheila, I have some of the Brown Sugar Twin. The box directions recommend using half brown sugar substitute and half real brown sugar. Do you use the product like this or use only the substitute? Do baked goods taste bitter when you use the sugar substitute? Any suggestions for its use?
