| My favorite thing for breakfast is crustless quiche. There's a recipe in the back of DANDR, and probably a few variations in the recipe forum here as well. I make mine in a 9 x 13 glass casserole pan and cut it up into 12 squares. Nuke it for 1 minute in the morning, and there's your breakfast. I think the crustless quiche tastes so much better than scrambled eggs or omelettes (must be all that heavy cream!) Here's another recipe that's truly grab & go. These have an almost breadlike consistency, and are really good to eat cold. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5569 (Induction breakfast ... for a change) |

| One of my favorite quick breakfast "meals" is a small sliced granny smith apple (low on glycemic index) dipped into some natural peanut butter or almond butter...you can also add some cinnamon and maybe just a touch of honey. You'll be amazed at how full this will make you feel. This is also good for a late-night snack. |

| The breakfast casserole is a great induction grab and go......make it on the weekend, cut into individual pieces and you'll have breakfast made for the entire week! I'm not on induction any more, but its still my favorite brekkie! Betty

| Thanks for the help with that. The quiche sounds good, I'll go find the recipe and make that up this afternoon. And I did catch that apple on the no no list....lol and the peanutbutter and the honey...sounds good though. This morning I made my first omelette with a little chesses and ham. Wasn't too bad but needed a little more cheese for taste. SArah |

| If you need some oomphies for your eggs, try adding chopped up jalapeno slices from a jar. About 2 slices per egg does the trick rather nicely!

| Yea Granny smith apples may not be on the official list of foods for induction, but TONSofFUN asked for a quick food she could grab and eat on the way to work. So far none of the other suggestions have been quick or easy. I've actually done some research on granny smith apples: ------------------------------------------------ 1 medium granny smith apple Per Serving: 62 Calories; trace Fat (1.8% calories from fat); trace Protein; 16g Carbohydrate; 3g Dietary Fiber; 0mg Cholesterol; 3mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1 Fruit. ----------------------------------------------- I suggested a SMALL granny smith apple. Maybe TONSofFUN could even eat half the apple and end up with only 8 carbs. It's just like anything else. You could have a huge steak for breakfast that has no carbs, but since it's huge you're probably not going to be contributing to any weight-loss. Losing weight is not just about specific food choices, but also about food quantity and quality. |

| She asked for induction foods, Street! Apples are not induction. It's ok! We all make mistakes!
