Default losing it due to chocolate

This is kind of stupid but hey i decided to write it down anyway.. Its like if i dont write it i cant fight it.. one month ago at work we started to do long hours at work.. One of our co-workers brought some chocolate to sell for his kids sports. i bought one and gave it away. for about 2 weeks everything was cool but then it happened i ate a piece. Well its been down hill from there. every time my team does overtime (that is almost every day) we want our chocolate fix.. At first i did not mind it because my friends and familly were telling me i was too thin so let the craving beat me.. now my clothes are getting tight.. No im not boing boohoo.. Just wanted to share what i small piece can do to you. we now eat about i chocolate bar a day. this is nuts.. the minute the clock hits overtime we run and buy chocolate. The funny thing is that i never likes sweats before.. Oh well lets get back to a no choc world.. I will miss you caramel filled treats.

Congratulations on recognising that your chocolate 'fix' will have to go, Carolyn.
Sometimes these little 'cheats' creep up on us, don't they?
good luck in stopping the indulgence

Many of us have problems with fodd associations. I must eat ****** while I am doing *****. I found I cant beat that but I can make it atkins friendly. When the whole office is eating chocolate peperonni may not help but maybe making chocolate blobs ahead of time will. Think of something you like and keep it for that time.

Chocolate is probably the only thing that i truly crave and once i have one itty bitty piece i crave it daily; it's so difficult, i can't even do teeny sugar free choclate chips because they trigger greater chocolate cravings. I was 'chocolate -free' for a couple of monthe but lately due to hosting many meals and more than a few house guests (short & long term) the choco monster has crept back into my life.

My best chocolate antidote is a piece of rich Camembert or Brie cheese. Somewhere on this board i read that avacado or tuna salad w/ mayo are good to stave off cravings and this works for me too except avacado is not in season in this part of the world and i can only get white tuna from the States and my supply is starting to run low. Actually most things w/ mayo like eggsalad or cucumbers dipped in a mayo based dressing counter chocolate cravings for me, but it's hard when we have junk in the house!

Good Luck getting out of the choclate loop, let me know how you're doing!

None of us are above temptation .. the key is finding some other way of coping with it .. if you can, take yourself OUT of the situation .. somehow!! Maybe take a 15 minute break and go for a walk OUTSIDE?? Anything .. whatever you can think of to break that cycle of temptation!

At my job, every Wednesday is free popcorn day. The smell permeates the whole building. Talk about temptation! Sometimes I just get up and go outside for 10-15 minutes and walk!! So far, its really helped me.

Hang in there, Carolyn!! You are so worth it!

Betty

and it has the extra bonus of being healthy too

I was a chocoholic and what I finds works for me is remembering how much I looked forward to the last chocolate bar I had, and then how terrible it actually was - of course that might only work in England where our chocolate now seems to have hardly any chocolate in any more!

Oh boy! I so understand how hard it is when it comes to chocolate.! Adore the stuff!

A friend recently brought me two one kilo (2.2 lb each) bars of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut Choc from England. He didn't know I was doing Atkins. Lord! How I wanted to eat the lot in one go! Took all my willpower to put it in the fridge and hope hub or my boys would eat it. No such luck. None of them like fruit and nut choc (how can anyone not????).

The damn stuff sat there for two whole months (!!!) tempting me every time I opened the fridge. Am way too much of a Scot to chuck it out! Finally, I met up with a friend who in conversation told me how she loved Cadbury's F&N, and ate it all the time when she went to the UK.

So, no prizes for guessing who finally got the stuff! Was I relieved to see it go! But handing it over gave me pangs galore. Oddly, the worst craving came when I was driving to her house with the bars sitting on the seat next to me.... so nearly caved.

Phew! It was close!

Hang in there... and go prepared with some cocoa/sweetner treat!

Sal

I'm with you, Sally!!
Cadburys F & N was my favourite before Atkins too.
My DH used to buy the big bars on special occasions and sometimes I was able to make them last a few days but more often not
