| Even with the amount of dairy i get daily (i'm on OWL so i get more..yogurt, ricotta etc) i still take 1500 mg calcium suppliments a day. calcium is very important for women, I think especially if you have osteopirosis in your family (my grandmother had it as well) I also read that you should not take more than 500 mgs of calcium at a time..which is why i take it 3x a day. your body can only absorb 500 mg at a time, it flushes the rest.

| Yes you should be taking a calcium supplement daily. I too take 1500mg a day, as directed by my doctor. It is very important for us woman to have the proper amount of calcium in our system. I also take multi-vitamins which contain some calcium as well. |
