| ((((Ninane)))) We wouldn't all be here if there wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel. This much I promise you. You are absolutely going through a withdrawal period. Your body is burning through all that stored up glycogen in your system and it's switching fuel systems. This takes a toll on you, but it *does* pass. I know this is going to sound goofy, but how you feel is a GOOD thing. It means you're doing it right. If you need to take some Tylenol, then take some! No need to suffer. If you need a couple of days to adjust, then take them. It sounds as though you get that exercise is non-negotiable, but you passing out on the treadmill isn't going to do you or your health any good. Get on there when you can, and that means if you have a burst of energy or inspiration - get on there- and if you only last 10 minutes, well then, so be it. Something is *always* better than nothing! Head straight for the FAQ forum and read up on Induction Flu and a few other things while you're there. If you have more questions, don't be shy! Ask them. Welcome to ADBB ~Brook

| Just like Brook said, it get's better! The first day or two is AWFUL! But after that, after your body has adjusted, you will feel so much better than you ever did before!! You'll have plenty of energy. I've been through that caffine withdrawl as well, both on and off atkins. Off atkins, I suffered for weeks without my coffee and coke. On Atkins, my body was fueled with so much energy from the new foods I was eating that it replaced it in a couple of days! You'll be glad you didnt quit this time next week!

| Welcome to the induction flu. I went through it. It's like you're going from 60 to 0 in seconds!!!! Take a pain reliever of your choice for your headache, rest and in a few days you will be bouncing off the walls!!!! I didn't start exercising until I lost a good chunk of weight....and I hate to tell you to stop since you just started. If you do stop, just make sure you will continue once you feel better. Keep that motivation. You can always do small spurts of exercise-even walking for 10 minutes intervals until you feel better. When I started exercising-it was-Ok-I'll walk for 10 minutes. Then as I felt better, I upped it to 20. Then the next week or so, 30 minutes etc. And yes, get the DANDR. Not sure what Atkins made easy book is, but the original book Dr Atkins wrote will explain ALOT of what is going on, why it's working and what to do later on!!!! Good luck. You'll feel better soon! PROMISE!

| my first few days were bad.... I had a death in the family as well as the induction blahs..... but it all worked out.... just know that it WILL pass... use this as an excuse to go to bed early maybe.... for a couple of days... and don't worry about exercising for 2 days or so.. (now I KNOW I'm going to get blasted for saying that about the exercise... but with me it was post-TOM weakness combined with TOM and the funeral scene... and I just NEEDED to pile up on the sofa and channel surf and snooze... I lost 13 pounds during my 2 weeks... ) HANG IN THERE!! |

| Feeling so weak and dizzy that you almost fell off the treadmill is not normal. Could you please give us a list of what you ate? It could be you aren't eating enough calories. Or it could be you aren't drinking enough water. Or it could be you are depleting yourself of the valuable vitamins and minerals.

| Not2Late - after your post I went for a checkup and found that my bloodpressure is very low. Apparently some salt would kickstart me again. I'm off to bed and finished day 3 of induction without cheating, still tired but all other baddies are gone. Tomorrow I'll be 100%! Thanks! |
