Default Less padding on the bones

Now that you have less padding on your bones do you sleep in different positions, having found your old favourites are not comfortable any more?

Sure do!!
I always used to sleep on my side (to minimise snoring!) and went all night not moving from this position. But now I actually wake up to turn as I find pressure on my hipbones a bit painful. Must get a new mattress!

BTW I sometimes find myself lying in bed feeling those hipbones (sad or what!!)

Also I cant sit as long on hard chairs without needing to wriggle a bit! I obviously used to carry my own 'natural cushion' with me!!

Ah, the mattress! Some years ago we bought a very expensive bed which is actually has two 3 ft matresses zipped together. My side is much firmer than my wife's. In recent weeks I have begun to wonder if it is too firm for my present weight and quantity of self-padding. I sleep a lot more on my back now, but this thread was prompted by an observation from this morning. I woke on my back with the palms of my hands face down on the mattress a few inches out from my thighs. Clearly this was avoiding pressure on my elbows (and probably my shoulder blades), and offering the fleshiest part of my under-arms to the mattress.

Any other observations I would have to reserve to the men's forum.

No changes in sleeping positions but I find it uncomfortable to sit in hard surfaces.

When I started Atkins, the first body part to shrink was my posterior, which is quite depressing since I never had much of a butt to start with.

Rather weird! For the last few nights I've been in agony trying to sleep. I just can't get comfortable sleeping in the same positions as I used to. My hip always hurts and is digging into the bed.

DEM BONES!!!

This is a HUGE problem for me, not only when I'm sleeping, but when I'm sitting anywhere!! We can't even eat at certain restaurants because the chairs are TOO HARD! I tell ya, I feel like Goldilocks (that bed is TOO HARD!!)

Well, considering the fact that when I was fat, my back hurt all the time, I will GLADLY and HAPPILY live forever with a butt that's too bony instead!

A BONY BUTT BEATS A POUCHY GUT!!

Elizellen! I do the same thing! When I'm laying in bed I'm feeling my pelvic bones all the time! It's just amazing I can actually feel them. LOL!

I don't have any trouble sleeping in my normal positions, but I do find that I can't sit as long in a position, especially on a hard chair! LOL!

yep and don't forget when you were a super heavy weight sleeping on those mattresses you compressed things and should now get a new one.

I used to sleep face down in what is called the broken swastic position but now without that big belly holding me up well I've become a side sleeper now

Opposite problem: I am not now heavy enough to bend the springs.

I now sleep more on my front (or 45 degrees over) as I used to when I was younger. I used to find the compression on the belly uncomfortable.

Interesting to note that hips are an issue for women. I suspect it's shoulders for men.

Default Re: Less padding on the bones

I can not STAND sleeping with my knees together. Since my tummy tuck I need to sleep on my sides (not my tummy). And when I sleep on my sides I have to lay so that my knees don't touch together. The bones touching is SO DISGUSTING plus it hurts. When I lay on my side my hip bones are protruding out and it grosses me out pretty bad. But I"ll take that over bein a chunky monkey any day.
