Unhappy Slow Week =(

I'm new to the forums, but not to the Atkins diet. The first time I did it was about five years ago--long before the market was saturated with low carb products and Keto strips were hard to find!

Either way, I've been going at it pretty well for about a month. I even had a recent business trip to NYC where I was surrounded with all of my favourite foods--pizza, french fries, ice cream, etc; and I didn't cheat at all! I was so proud and so frustrated at the same time.

I've been averaging a weight loss of about five pounds a week--haven't been doing as much working out as I could, but still pushing myself since I do a fair amount of walking. Anyway, this week I was a bit more sedentary, and still haven't broken that twenty pound barrier regardless of all that NYC walking =( down from an average of 5 pounds to 2.5. I was hoping to really have a bang up week right before Thanksgiving where it's going to be overwhelmingly difficult to stick to the plan in a family house surrounded by nono foods.

Anyway, just wanted to share my frustration and disappointment with some others I know feel my pain! My cravings are absolutely non-stop. Ugh.

That's still a lot of weight lose per week! conventional wisdom states that 2 pounds a week is average for weight loss, and especially for long-term weight loss. I know it has to be frustrating going from 5 to 2.5, to some degree, but you've been doing really well, and 2.5 is still doing exceptionally well! Way to go!

If you don't want your 2.5lb loss per week - send it my way baby!!!! You're doing great. It's normal to lose faster in the beginning, but be prepared to plateau a few times on your way down. Keep up the good work! The important thing is that you learn new eating habits for life and use those to reach your goals.

WOW you are doing ABSOULUTELY FAB WOOOHOO. To tell you the truth in my first 2 months on Atkins I only lost 12 POUNDS then the weight started flying off. SO 19 pounds in a MONTH Holly Crap I would ahve loved that. I was a lot heavier then you are started at 285. SO even know the weight loss is slowing Down just think in 1 year where you will be. Look at me, even with only losing 12 Pounds in the first 2 months I was down 92 Pounds in 1 year not too shabby. SO keep it up you are doing soooo great. These little bumps are normal and it's also normal for you to feel blah about 1 month in. I did cause all my hormones inches size everything is changing not just the scale.
