| If you put your foods into fitday and balance it out as it should, it shows up as 5% carbs, 30% protein and 65% fat, according to that balance it is high fat, when I see the food on my plate though, it deffinately isn't high fat and I ate way fatter when I was still eating 'normal', so it is just the way you look at it I guess. The people that comment on you, they've all heard something, but actually don't really know what this WOE is really about, they've never actually looked into it, so yah they heard someone else say it's high fat, so that's what they repeat........ Happy losing to you!

| Well if you are doing the percentages as described for Induction 65-30-5. It is a high fat diet. It was always my perception you have to eat it to lose it. Everyone one can do this diet differently, but as described by the good doc for Induction (and a little less so for later stages), it is intended that a majority of your Caloric intake is in the form of fats.

| Of your caloric intake, especially in the beginning, your fat content is really only 60%, and it only goes down from there. What people fail to realize is that fat is the only substance that doesn't break down into sugar in the bloodstream. Even protein can break down into sugar in excess. Fat gives staying power and a feeling of fullness, and packs a pretty great punch.

| Not that our way of eating has anything to do with the typical American diet; however, most folks in the U.S. take in, on average, about 52% of their calories in fat. So, even with this "high fat" diet of ours, we're increasing our fat intake only slightly above average.

| As long as my food is high fat and I'm not! All I know is that it works and it's healthy as long as it's done correctly. I love to see the look on peoples faces when I order a big slab-o-prime rib goodness or some wings dripping in blue cheese and a nice salad oozing in dressing and cheese, they always ask "so your off your diet"? I love Atkins.
