| Remember induction is a 14 day process, 2 weeks! STAY OFF THE SCALE UNTIL THE END! I know it is hard to do, but give it the full two weeks.

| Day 2 and your symptoms sound just like induction flu! It goes away in a couple more days. You'll lose weight! Hang in there! Like Bren said, you want to give yourself the full 14 days. You're only supposed to have 3 cups of vegetables. What's the cheese sauce? Did you make it yourself, or is it something you poured from a can?

| I am not an expert like Bren & Cleo, but I can tell you that weighing yourself that much will drive you crazy. I used to do that. Morning, noon & night. Now I only weigh myself once a week, in the morning. And you should remember that after dinner and after drinking that much water, you will definitely weigh more than in the morning. You should really follow Bren’s advice and lock away your scale for the next two weeks. Good luck!! |

| I'm no expert, but I'd say you're having too much cheese. It's one of the foods that is restricted, I try not to have more than 90g a day. It's so amazing to stay of the scale for first 14 days, you get a miracle at the end - I lost 12 pounds and it was great. You'll drive yourself nuts with the scale, don't do that to yourself!! Good luck, Atkins is the best thing that I ever did for myself, I'm sure it will be for you too. |

| Weigh yourself ONCE a week, and do it at the same time, each day. Most folks find that the first thing in the morning reflects the most accurate progress. Remember, your weight can vary as much as five pounds during the day, so what you weigh in the afternoon can be significantly different than the morning's value. As a whole, it sounds like everything is as it should be. Do be sure you keep within the vegetable limit of 3 cups. Other than that, just keep doing what you're doing. Don't forget, also, that exercise is NOT an option! Wishing you success!

| Im not allowed to excercise? I mean i walk around 5 miles per day just to get to where i need to go............. Today i did some christmas shopping, walked 1.5 miles into oxford city center went buying presents for about 3 hours then walked back the 1.5 miles with 4 bags or so of gifts. Another thing i noticed is that i can barely bring myself to eat any food today, eating is a chore which i kind of force myself to do now because i wont lose weight if i dont? Before atkins i was eating nothing more than a snack for the whole day then having 1 really big meal per day (usually a proper take away such as a chicken madras curry, pilau rice, sesame toast starter stuffed naan and some popadums) , a few days ago is the 1st time ive had breafast in maybe 10 years. Since i moved away from home im 10x more active, living at home and Coca Cola ( i used to drink 6 litres a day or so) is what caused me to put on alot of weight. Also do sleeping times affect your weight loss? Im an incredible insomniac (another reason i started the diet, my caffeine intake was OBSCENE) and sometimes ill just skip a day of sleep. |

| "Exercise is not an option" means that it isn't optional. You have to do it in order to be successful. You have no choice. So keep up with the exercising! You're doing the right thing. And yes, you will feel less like eating once ketosis sets in, but make sure you don't go longer than 6 waking hours without eating. It's true that not eating could backfire on you. Keep up the good work!

| Chris meant that you have to exercise - it's not an option. Not sure about the sleeping, though.....it could be argued that your body burns more cals while awake but runs more efficiently when it has it's required sleep. You might become less of an insomniac without all the caffeine - just give it a while.
