| I would think its eating all the carbs that is making you more hungry. If you were doing induction by the book you shouldn't be hungry. Have you read the book? If not pick up a copy. Give a 2 week clean induction, by the book a go and you'll be fine. Maybe someone else on the ADBB has more input or suggestions?

| i'm thinking that you didn't follow induction correctly, or stick to the program until you were firmly in ketosis. If you do a clean induction, and I mean squeaky clean, and you eat everything you are supposed to eat, you will fall into ketosis which is a wonderful natural state of being where your appetite is altered and your body gleefully burns your fat stores. But it requires a serious mental and emotional committment to get there, it takes at least 2 weeks, (for me it took about 3 weeks), and you can't cheat, and you can't go back and forth eating carbs, then not eating carbs. When you do a clean induction it is absolutely essential to eat EVERYTHING you are supposed to. If you are eating liberal amounts of meat, fish, eggs, 4 ounces of cheese and 3 cups of veggies, there is no way you are going to be hungry, except maybe for the first couple of days. After that you will be happily full all the time. When you stay in ketosis you drop down sizes, even without dropping down on the scale. Trying to lose a certain amount of weight before a special event is an old compulsive dieters trick that will not benefit you. Put your focus on lifelong habits that will nuture your body and give you peace of mind and release yourself from compulsive behaviors. Eating everything in sight is just a way that we choose not to love ourselves and to punish ourselves for imaginary sins. Get the 2002 DANDR, follow the instructions exactly, eat liberal amounts of what you are supposed to eat, and find your freedom. |

| I know with me, it was difficult to get past the first couple weeks on Atkins. I still had all of my cravings that I had to overcome .... sugar, caffeine, carbs ... But once I got past those first couple weeks, I started not to quite feel as hungry. I have found that I have to literally force myself to eat at times to make sure I eat enough. I'm not sure if anyone will agree with this, but this is how I had to do it in the beginning. I told myself that I would do Atkins for 2 weeks and see what I think of it. I kept telling myself that 2 weeks is pathetic and I should be able to have enough willpower to last two weeks. After the 2 weeks and seeing what I lost, I told myself that I would go another week. Soon, it wasn't a diet anymore .... it was more of a way of life. I know that you shouldn't consider this a diet, but it's hard not to, at least in the beginning. It's a big change. But it's worth it. |

| Check with your DR. but I don't take my sugar pills at all. Keep to it, you can do it. It is a major change on your body and you have to expect it to react in same fashion, whether good or bad. When I started, I was in serious withdrawl for four days. Headaches, sweats, cramps, bloating.....
