Default Getting back on track

Hello, I started out here a while back when I first got on the Atkins diet. I was 400 pounds and I dropped 130 and Im now down to 270. The problems is that I've been off of the diet for about almost a year now. Im trying to get back on now but its hard. Im eat so much junk that I know I shouldnt but its so hard to give up. All I want to do is get down to 230, thats only 40 pounds, and considering that I lost 130, it shouldnt be that hard but it is. Anyways today Im back, trying to eat right, drink more water, workout more, and get into shape. THis board was very informative and helpful any many aspects the first time around, so I figured Id give a try the second time around as well.

Is it going to be harder to drop the wieght now? I was eating stuff like peanuts and Cashews, I was eating a detour bar every morning for breakfast and a coffe with caffine and half and half instead of heavy cream.

Hello and welcome back. I would start with a clean induction. Give up all nuts caffine and milk products. Stick with us, you'll do fine

WOW! What an amazing weight loss so far!

As you get closer to goal you will find that weight comes off more slowly. That's normal stuff. Definitely stick to plan, ditch the caffeine and the low-carb bars and start over at induction. You can do this! Changing your eating habits is only part of the battle. The other part is getting rid of negative self-programming and sabotaging thoughts we're so good at.

welcome back. you can kick those high carb foods to the curb and you know it cause you did the first time so just do it and don't worry about can I do it?

Now about the weight loss slwoing down. evdry pound you lose this time is going to be a bigger total change in your fat then it was when you were a 400 pounder since you only need 40 pounds (now lets assume you had all the weight you lost or needed to lose as your total fat amount) so you had 42.5% body fat at 400 and 16% now ( I and you know you got more but we don't have a number for that amount of fat) so 1 pound at 400 pounds was a .59% change while now it is 2.5% change or a difference over 425%. it will seem slower to you but in terms of realative amounts lost it should be close to the same.

Happy low carbing

Congratulations on your earlier loss

We have a forum specially for people in your position who have had success on Atkins in the past and are having problems getting in the swing of induction this time called the Second time Around Club.
Pop over there and say hello to the gang who hang out there - I am sure you will find inspiration, encouragement and help to get going again.

Thanks, Im going to check out that Second time Around Club. I know I can do it, but it just seems so hard this morning. I screwed up today and I didnt even realize till now, when I got my decaf coffee today I put half and half in it and I put like 4 splendas in it, and I think the limit is two splendas. I just gotta go back and read what I can and cant have again so I can stay sharp and not accidenetly eat things that Im not supposed to. I gotta start the grocery shopping again, and I gotta retrain myself to drink mostly water. Im going to do it though, I love the support here, its really helpful.
