Default Non Dairy Atkins

I was just told by my Doctor to cut out all dairy products. How can I continue this way of eating without dairy? Any suggestions would be most appreciated. This is due to headaches I have and in no way is it associated with this WOE.
Thank you!

Sure, the only dairy is cream and cheese on induction and that still leaves you with meats and eggs and most important veggies. Where are you on OWL. You can also skip the dairy rung and eat nuts, fruit etc. Let us know.

SHould not be a problem. As pointed out by Dessertthorn we don't have much dairy on this. Use olive oil instead of butter and you should be OK. If it is a true food intolerance you'll probably find the weght loss will be easier without it.

Actually, many people stall on dairy products, so you might be better off without them.

Are you in induction or OWL?

What kinds of foods do you miss? Are you lactose intolerant or is this the protein?

Inquiring minds want to know ;-)

It's not going to be anywhere near difficult! I can't have dairy products, so I just omit the cheese and cream from my diet. I've not hit any problems so far with it!

Thank you all for your responses! I'm currently on extended induction, going on week 8. I will miss cheese, butter and sour cream.
I usually have egg salad for breakfast, is Mayonaise considered a dairy product?
If mayo is not than giving up cheese, cream and butter won't be that difficult.
Thanks again for the encouragement,
Sean

As far as I know, Mayo isn't considered dairy. It's an egg product so if you have no apparant problems with eggs...then you're in luck.

I was lactose intolerant for 16 years. Once I started Atkins, I slowly added in a few dairy items (sour cream, half and half and cheese). Now I can eat boatloads and it's no problemo. But...it's really doable if you HAVE to do it.
Just concentrate on all the wonderful things you CAN eat, instead of the few things you can't eat right now.

The great thing about this WOE is the variety of foods we can eat. You don't have to eat dairy products while doing Atkins. IMO, the dairy products like cheese, butter and cream only add taste variety, because if you pick the correct vegetables and meats, you'll meet the daily calcium requirement.

Mayonnaise is made from egg and oil. So there is no cream in mayo.
