| I have become addicted to excercise. I lost some weight when it was just diet, but my shape really didn't change. I started with 1 hour of weights for 5 nights a week - I did this for 3 months and only lost 5lbs. but lost 6 inches around the waist and made great "mirror" progress. Now I have added 45 min of treadmill when I wake up Monday-Friday, still 1 hour of weights M-F, added 45 minutes of cardio after weights M-F, and 1 hour of Cardio each weekend day. If I counted right it is about 870 minutes a week now, and I feel energized rather than tired, which is a nice surprise. Even if I never lose a nother pound, I feel and will be healthier. AJ

| I will be honest I used to be obsessed with exercise, I ran a lot!!!! Then hit the wall and could not make myself work out or run anymore at all under any circumstances ..that is a huge reason I put on weight..stopping cold in your 40's is not a good thing to do..especially if your eating patterns stay the same. I do try to do a lot of physical work yard work, house work ..my job is not sedantary for the most part...I make work for myself like I park far from anything and walk...make extra trips up and down the stairs at home and work...go for hikes/walks ...ect..but nothing really that counts as a real work out. I know better than to think I can force myself to do something I really do not want to do ...so I am riding this out maybe the urge to go to the gym again will come back..or even to play racquet ball.... I do miss that sometimes! . I have lost this weight and kept it off by moving my body and eating right..but not with any exercise program...sad to say ..because I do believe it is the best thing for you ..if you can make yourself do it :P all I can say is do not burn yourself out...because it is hard to bring back the gusto for exercise once you have ...really really hard!!!! |

| You can't beat the "feel good" feeling that exercise gives you. For me the emotional benefits are the best. I also feel more powerful walking down the street. My legs feel stronger and I feel more coordinated or balanced or something. I have to exercise every day now. I "plan" to exercise 4 days a week. And then I get bored or antsy or something and next thing you know I'm popping in an exercise tape or taking the dog for a long walk. I got a couple of Leslie Sansome's Walk Away The Pounds videos from the flea market last summer. The one-mile is perfect for newbies to exercise. It only takes 20 minutes and you do it at home - no fancy outfit or bathing suit required. I've moved onto the 2 mile and now I have to get the 3 and 4 mile ones, but I keep the 1 mile for when I just want a short little pick-me up. I don't even care if it helps with weight loss or not. Now it's just something I need to do. If I don't I get crabby. lol

| I try to get on the treadmill everyday for a minimum of 30 minutes, it doesn't matter if I'm walking at a 3.5 or running a 7.0... as long as I'm on there. 30 minutes is my minimum, but once I get to 30 I always know I can do so much more - so I do. 99% of the time I walk/jog for 60-75 minutes everyday - 1 to 2 times a day. This is something I do for myself everyday because I know how great it makes me feel, and it really does tone the body! I've never been one to say I love exercise, but I know that it's something I need to do... it was hard when I worked out yesterday, it'll be hard today... and ya know what? It's ganna be hard tomorrow. But I'm still ganna do it. If you want to lose weight you have to work at it. You'll get out exactly what you put in. I put in all I can everyday to make sure I get to my goal. Ya'll can do it, just get off your bootie's and march in place for 10 minutes every now and then... before you know it you'll be huffin' and puffin' along looking and feeling great!

| I love to exercise.. well, let me rephrase, I love the way I feel AFTER exercise lol. I plan to exercise 5 days a week. Sometimes I do less, sometimes more, but at least I do it. My problem is that if I miss more than a day, I find it hard to get back on track so I really have to push myself to not take more than a day off at a time. The trick is to find at least a couple of activities that you enjoy and mix them up so you don't get bored, burned out and quit. I also find that joining an exercise challenge helps a LOT. It keeps me accountable and motivated. I'm just restarting so I don't have any fabulous stats to post, but I KNOW that it helps with self esteem, energy, inches lost and much more. When I exercise regularly it also helps with my depression. I urge everyone to find something they like/can do and do it!

| I think this post is important to bump up..get up, get out no matter if its walking the dog alittle further each day, or playing catch with the kids, deep housecleaning, park alittle further, stand and stretch every half hour, do leg lifts or sit ups during commercials..etc. It really does make a difference in how you feel |
