Brain Searchlight!

I've heard a lot of people talking about "brain fog" at the onset of Atkins... while I will say that I had a little during induction (when I suppose my brain was learning to convert protein to glucose for its fuel to make up for a dip in carbs), but now it is non-existent. In fact, I have... "brain searchlight!"

Yes, "brain searchlight" is something that lets me study all night with only occasional nibble breaks and no caffeine, alert and focused the entire time. Brain searchlight was my best friend last night when I had to learn a complex cytology diagram in one day because of my hard-*** prof. In the past, I would struggle and struggle with diagrams (not a visual learner, completely auditory) and I would have a so-so knowledge with them test day if I really drove it home. Well, not this time! I studied last night and when I woke up this morning I filled in one of my blank practice diagrams with ease from memory!

Anyone else find they actually think BETTER on Atkins??? Because I do! And it's making me wonder... maybe it's because I'm not distracted by hunger while I'm trying to study or something.

On a completely serious level, I have found that since starting Atkins in October, my concentration, memory and brain activity levels have gone. Completely.

BUT! It may not have anything to do with Atkins haha. My main concern for years has been that I've not been giving my brain a good run. I finished college in 2004 and I took a year out, which I'm now into my second year of. Hence, I'm desperate to go back, study, and get my brain going again.

So whether it's got anything to do with Atkins, I don't know.

I absolutely have more clarity on Atkins. I also find myself really sensitive to things like someone tapping their fingers across the room. It's like a Chinese water torture.
