Default chili's

i went to chili's last night and ordered the chicken ceasar without croutons. i checked the nutrition facts online this afternoon (after noticing i was up about a pound this morning). first, the salad w/ dressing is 1010 calories(!) and i think about 40 carbs. the dressing clocks in at about 350 calories and 3 grams carbs. i don't believe there's a portion of croutons known to man that would account for anywhere near the calories/carbs needed to make up the difference. i noticed the chicken tasted kind of sweet (of course lately i've been thinking that water tastes sweet so i didn't think much of it at the time) - they must marinade it in something sweet. i ate roughly half of the chicken and half of the greens. i would recommend that on future visits people request unmarinated chicken just to be on the safe side.

Chili's is one of my friends' and my favourite locations for unwinding lunches and dinners (well, second to Chipotle!). I've spent many hours laboring over their nutrition information to figure out what's the best meal for me.

I'm almost convinced that their nutrition information is slightly skewed like you said. A dinner ceasar salad (a far smaller salad with no chicken or crutons) has 16 net carbs, but the dressing (2 fluid ounces, a decent amount of dressing) has 3 carbs. Either way, it's always good to err higher.

Anyway, I go for the soup and salad; dinner ceasar for 16, and a cup of broccoli cheese soup for a net of 10--total dinner of 26 carbs. I don't generally eat this many carbs in one sitting, but it's nice for a treat out.

Ooooo, Betty, I knew there was a reason I like you!!! I love those fajitas!!

I'm also partial to the Wings Over Buffalo with extra Bleu Cheese. (Yes, there is actually a Chili's on base over here and we are getting a Macaroni Grill in the fall. No big whoop for me, but maybe it will cut down on the table wait at Chili's! )

Nothing like waiting 45 minutes at Chili's because the manager can't keep enough waitstaff on the clock to wait all the tables. You finally get seated and there are empty sections. I can't wait for Macaroni Grill to open, hopefully before we leave next year.
