| I lost 8 inches from my waist with just about 0 lbs. lost over three months. Than whoosh I've lost 17lbs in the last month. Our bodies are weird, they are always trying to maintain the status quo and when your changing they have a funny way of adjusting. Sometimes it's slow and steady and other times whoosh. Don't get discouraged, use the mirror, it is the best measure! AJ

| My scale hasn't moved since 16th December. But in the last two weeks alone, I've lost 3inches. It may not be moving, but I've dropped another clothes size, so I'm happy

| That's pretty typical. After the excitement of the Induction loss, things start to get real and your body finds it's own pace. (Weight loss is not linear)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5090 |

| I've gone through a period of months without any movement on the scale, but lost 3 dress sizes. If you are exercising, you are losing fat but building muscle. A pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat, generally. So, scales are not the most accurate tool to measure fat loss.

| okay scale 101 scales measure the effect of gravity on your TOTAL body mass. On atkins we are morphing our TOTAL body mass. shedding fat mass adding muscle mass and fluid mass is ina constant stat of flux bicause of complicated biochem reactions andbiomechanics of weight loss. So you can lose 3 pounds of fat mass add .5 pounds of muscle mass and 2.5 pounds of fluids (stuffed in the tissues because the body does that when fat cells shrink) and be inches smaller but scale pounds the same. When your body reaches it's biochemical tolerancefor the fluids it will gereate at chemical to expell the fluids from the tissues and you are going to wake up pounds lighter. we call that a visit from whooshie and it is the normal mechanics of weight loss on any weight loss plan.

| Please don't allow yourself to get discouraged. I've stayed the same weight for the past 4 months. I've still went down a size in clothing and I'm still doing my Atkins faithfully. I know I will lose again soon, (any day now)... When we are starting to feel the old doubts and frustrations, thats when we really need to rev-up the exercise and get our mind thinking positive thoghts. Read the motivational stories from people who've made it, read the loser's lounge about the ones who've overcame hurdles and are making Atkins thier life-style. Take your measurements, drink extra water and enjoy this journey to weight loss. Don't let it be a stressful experience. It works. You will do it. You are doing it. Congratulations on the weight you've already lost. Hang in there and it will happen!!

| Your doing great. I rather lose those inches anyway. Imagine fitting into something that you have pushed to the back of your closet since last year! Try to slow down with the scale and start trying on old clothes.
