| Nope. You can't eat apples until the higher rungs of Ongoing Weight Loss phase--many weeks from now, possibly even longer depending on your carbohydrate metabolism. Go read the OWL sticky about the Carbohydrate Ladder in the Atkins OWL/Pre-Maintenance Forum, if you're curious about how far away they are in this way of eating. Apples are really carb-y.

| Yup, lettuce has carbs! If you want to check out the count on foods, you can go to www.fitday.com and sign up for free. You can look up foods and the carb count etc on each. Three cups of lettuce or two cups of lettuce and one cup of the other "acceptable" veggies on the induction list a day. Do you have your book? Have you read it? The book is a must, there is so much info in it you need to know in order to understand the entire concept. There are a lot of threads in the induction forum that will really help you both too, if you don't have the book at the moment. This place is a fount of info, look around and ask questions, we're always glad to help. The wallet sized list that cleo posted is what you can eat on induction, while counting carbs.

Take a look at this post explaining why we need to choose vegetables that have more goodness in them than just lettuce! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=23217 (Vegetables or chewy water?) Dr Atkins told us to eat 3 cups of vegetables from the list of allowed foods not just 3 cups of lettuce. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard....read.php?t=6781
