| Hi Englishrose Are you in UK or an 'expat' (assuming you started out over here from your name) Atkins is a 'muscle sparing' way of eating and we tend to lose more fat on this WOE than on others, as we eat above average protein along with the high fat and low carbs. Count calories if you like but for induction you might be better off concentrating on the carbs and training your body to eat 'enough' not to be hungry, rather than eating up to a certain calorie level. Often people here watch their calories to make sure they are eating enough food once ketosis kicks in with its appetite-supressant effect. Stick to the allowed list of foods and you cant go wrong.

| I don't think you need to worry about calories during Induction. That is something that has been drilled into our heads, if you want to lose weight cut calories. I heard that for years, and it doesn't work! I stuck to the book, didn't cheat, and didn't worry about calories and I lost 14 pounds during my first 2 weeks on Induction. Don't stress too much, this WOL is stress free!!! Just do what Dr. A says and you will do great!
