Question 2 months on Atikins, and......

im down 47 lbs.

for the past 2 weeks ive noticed ive only lost around 3-4 pounds....
WHY did it slow down so much, i was doing SO GOOD.....
will it pick back up?
im down to 167 and my goal is 125

i do know i stopped working out everyday, slacked off on the water ALOT, and began drinking alot of diet pepsi, with aspartame.....

ive NEVER cheated, not one time.....
hmmm

basically, i guess my body is just starting to slow down alot but id like to loose more than 8 lbs a month.......

any suggestions?

did any of you slow down for a while after a big big loss like 47 lbs? and then begin loosing pretty steady again?

i know im not going to loose as fast again, because after the first month you slow down, but id like to be steady loosing a good 3 lbs a week.

im 18 and this is the first diet ive ever been on! : ) thanks...

you answered your question with your statement about your exercise and water. Dr Atkins calls it a lifestyle change in DANDR chapter 15 you ave decreased your fuel burning so to keep your loss going at the same rate you either need to adjust fyour fuel intake downward or increase your activities back to where they were.

Also each pound now represents a bigger change in the amount of fat you have to left to lose. you were also adding lean body tissues with your exercise programs to which increased your metabolism and added scale weight giving you an even bigger fat mass loss.

You are doing great> congrats on the good job you are doing.

I've had a slow-up recently as well, but that is okay!

I noticed on the days I don't go down like I want to I've skipped a major amount of water in take the previous day. If I am at home, I fill up a gallon and drink it during the day...the problem is on days I am out and about!

I am going to be constructing and clearing a fencline today....so I doubt I have any problems seeing a change tomorrow!

I have lost 15 pounds though! My horse is very happy! lol

Yes, I slowed after about 24kg (50 lbs) at week 17, and now the pattern is nothing for 3 weeks, then I have TOM and drop a kg or 2. Frustrating, isn't it? I'm upping my exercise this month to see if I can stimulate it a little, and I'm trying to keep between 20-30 g carbs per day..

47 lbs in 2 months!!! Man, that is great!!!! I've been doing it for the same ammount of time and lost quite a bit less, 34 lbs... and I had a good deal to lose. So, feel awesome about your accomplisments to date!!

Keep up the effort that you're doing and you'll be fine. We can't lose everything that we want in 2 weeks... if we could, then this WOE would cost a lot of money!!!

Matt,
I'm 6' tall, but also a good deal older, and with a lot more to lose.... I've got 24 lbs to lose to get to where you are now! You've done great, and I wish I'd have gotten control of this beast when I was your age. You're doing great!!! Keep it up.

Rick

Have you read this excellent post about weightloss not being linear?
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5090 (Weight loss is not linear)

I found it reassuring when the fast induction losses slowed down for me.

Time to get out the ol' tape measure! You may not be losing pounds, but I bet you are losing inches!
