| I've started making the switch over from OWL to pre-maintenance and planning to weigh in Tuesday to see how I did. I just wanted to check up on my body. Now I'm not sure if I'm still in ketosis or not since I've been making the switch, and I was wondering if anyone knew if a deep purple color was required.

| No - any colour means you have the particular type of ketones that your sticks measure in your urine. Deep purple can mean you are dehydrated too! I have never seen more than the lightest colouring even when I was losing several pounds a week!!

| Per the book, once you reach 50 net carbs, you might not register on those stix. As Elizellen says, the color of the stix has nothing to do with losing weight. Furthermore, you can register "high" after eating a particularly fatty meal or snack---not because you are metabolizing your body fat, but because you are metabolizing the fat you just ate.
